17. Religious Education

We follow the Kent Agreed Syllabus for RE. This provides a framework for teaching and learning across the school. Children ‘learn about’ and ‘learn from’ religion with an emphasis on key skills for example empathy, understanding, attitudes. Christianity is studied in each year group and children also learn about other world religions across KS1 and 2. Our teaching aims to encourage children to value themselves and others, explore important questions in life, be sensitive to people’s feelings and recognise the importance of a moral code based on shared values.

Parents have the right to withdraw their children from Religious Education.  Children withdrawn from RE will work with another class by arrangement with the class teacher.
