Class 6 Letter Term 5 2018-2019

Dear Parents, Carers and Pupils of Class 6
Welcome back to an important term in year six. I hope you have had a lovely break over the holidays. This term we will be focusing on all aspects of literacy and numeracy in the build up to the SATS in the week beginning 13th May.
In preparation for these tests, Mrs Campbell will continue to take her regular groups for interventions in the morning and Mrs Hunt will work with small groups in the afternoon, three times a week. The student teacher, Miss Percy will continue to join the class every Tuesday until the final week of term where she will be with us for the entire week. If you wish to contact me about any worries, queries that you may have or for any information you may need, please do not hesitate to email me on the following address–
The children now have a blue book for Home Learning during the lead up to the tests. The tasks are now focusing on reading aloud to you each night for a few minutes and to discuss with you what they have understood to aid their inference skills. Mini math tasks will range from timetables and number bonds to any areas that your child may feel unsure about. On the website you will find spelling lists for the term, so please do be practicing these at home as well.
Our DT Day and Art Day will be within the last week of this term. We will be using circuits, motors and sheet materials to hopefully design, plan and construct a motorised car in DT. We will then be carving patterns/images onto lino tiles, covering them with paint before printing them on to hessian fabric.
We are looking forward to a very busy, challenging and exciting term! Many thanks for your continued support.
Yours sincerely,
Miss. L Webb, Mrs Campbell, Mrs Hunt and Miss Ryan
