St Peter’s News 1st February 2019

Doing all the good we can through faith, love and excellence

  • On Thursday some of our year 1 and year 2 children took part in an Infant Agility competition. Whilst they didn’t win any medals the children told me they had lots of fun!
  • Next week we have football matches planned against Selling (Boys and girls) and Sheldwich schools.
  • Don’t forget that the children can wear red on Monday, as part of a fundraiser for the British Heart Foundation. You are also invited to a coffee morning in the church hall at 9am. Some of our Junior Leadership Team and school council will be helping to host this event.
  • Today a letter from our Chair of Governors has been sent home concerning the role of Headteacher. Mr Way will not be continuing in his role as Executive Headteacher when the interim period come to an end in July and therefore the governors have begun the process of recruiting a new head for September.

Homework

We are busy reviewing the homework that is given at St Peter’s. I have been talking to teachers and the children about their thoughts and feelings. Thank you to those parents who have sent me an email with some feedback this week. If any other parents would like to share their thoughts on what is successful for your child and/or family, as well as things that you find a challenge then please do send me an email (nduffy@st-peters-canterbury.kent.sch.uk).

During worship this week, we have been talking about Tolerance. We have talked about ways we are the same and how we are different to our friends and others. Revd Tim encouraged the children to think about how the opposite of intolerance isn’t just being tolerant, but showing love.

A prayer written by Isla from Class 1: Dear God, Thank you for our teachers and our school. Thank you God for our homes too.  Amen
