Doing all the good we can through faith, love and excellence

  • We have had a great start to Term 4, with the children returning to school excited for their new topics and enjoying the sunshine in the playground!
  • On Thursday we welcomed a group of Japanese student teachers to the school. They enjoyed joining in with our learning and held workshops on games, using chopsticks, origami and Japanese language.
  • Term 4 is set to be a busy one, with Book Week, trips, swimming, forest school, lots of sports events and competitions, charity fundraisers, a magic show, a disco and a performance at the Marlowe Theatre just to mention a few! All dates are on our newsletters and the parent calendar online – see our website for more details.

Road Safety

A number of parents and staff have expressed concern about road safety for some of our pupils before school. Whether you walk to school with you child, or if they walk on their own, please remind them to stop, look and listen before crossing the road, as well as the importance of never playing in the road. Children on bikes or scooters need to take care also, as although St Peter’s Grove can be a quiet road, it does get extremely busy around school drop off an pick up times, with many vehicles driving at speed.

During worship this week, we have been talking about Celebrating Gifts and Talents. Worship has been led by Mr Maré, Miss Bergin, Miss Mills, Mrs Duffy, visitors from Barton Church and Mrs Pickles.

On Tuesday morning we took some time to celebrate what is really great about St Peter’s as a whole school – have a look at the following page to see what the children said.

A prayer written by Connor in Class 6: Dear Lord, Thank you for making this school great, for the friends we make, the enthusiasm for learning here and the way we interact with other students. Please keep it this way. Amen

Pick up arrangements

If your child will be collected by someone else (even another parent that we know well), please let the class teacher know in the morning. If this is not possible, please call or email the school office with this information. This supports our safeguarding procedures and enables us to make sure that all children are collected safely at the end of the school day.
