Doing all the good we can through faith, love and excellence
  • Class 3 had a visit from Mr Such on Tuesday, who was teaching them about the brain. They learnt a lot and had fun doing different brain exercises. A big thank you to Mr Such for giving up his time to come in.
  • Our PTFA are busy planning and getting ready for the Summer Fayre. If you, or a company you work for would be able to donate a prize for the raffle, we would love to hear from you. Please email or talk to Mrs Pearson or Mrs Duffy.
  • On Thursday, some children from Classes 5 and 6 took part in a High Five Netball tournament at Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School.
  • You may remember that our school council organised a fundraiser for the Salvation Army through a clothing collection with the “Recycle with Michael” scheme. They raised £28.20 for the school and more for the Salvation Army.
  • There is a buzz around school as the children have noticed “St Peter’s Got Talent” signs around the school. Coming soon!

Wellbeing and Mental Health
Promoting wellbeing and good mental health is very important to us as a school. This term we have launched Mrs Duffy’s Keep Calm and Colour On Club on a Monday lunchtime; a lovely chance to sit, listen to music and have a chat in a calm environment. Our staff meeting on Thursday afternoon was a great opportunity for our teaching team to review what we are good at in this area and to plan for ways we could further improve what we do at St Peter’s.
Thanks to the PTFA we will soon be introducing a “Worry Monster” to every classroom in the school, for children to write down or draw anything that is worrying or upsetting them. Children will be able to choose whether they would like an adult to read this and talk to them about it or not.
Maths Events
A big shout out and congratulations to some of our Year 5 and 6 children that have taken part in Maths Challenges with other schools at St Anselm’s and Junior Kings. Well done on your enthusiasm, teamwork, problem solving, mathematical thinking, relay racing (between questions!) and for representing our school. Thank you to Miss Tydeman for accompanying them. Well done Remi, Amelie, Elsa, Farah, Caspar, Iliana and Jaymie.
Mrs Beard
In our collective worship this week we have been thinking about the theme of “Methodist Traditions – Watch over one another in love”. Worship has been led by Mrs Wade, Mrs Duffy, Mr Way and Dr Rev Paul Glass from Kent College Senior School. Dr Rev Glass has also recently become a Foundation Governor of St Peter’s.
On Thursday morning we welcomed Mr Thurston and the St Peter’s choir, who confidently performed some songs to the rest of the school. What a treat!
