School Clubs
Clubs for this term will begin next week. Instead of coming through the school office to collect your child, please enter through the parent gate on St Peter’s Grove. Adults leading the clubs will dismiss the children to you from here, rather than from inside the school building. We hope that this arrangement will make it easier to collect scooters and bikes, as well as enabling the school to be cleaned more efficiently.

As you know we had a one day Ofsted inspection on 12th December. We are pleased to say that we have been graded as continuing to be a good school. You should have received a copy of the report along with a letter from Mr Way on Monday of this week. The report is also available on our website, by visiting the "Our Ofsted report" page, which can be found under the "About Us" tab.

Winter Weather Arrangements
We have been fortunate up to this point to have had a very mild winter. However, please can I remind you that children must come to school with an appropriate coat every day. The children will be sent back in from play if the staff on duty feel that a coat is needed.
Although no snow is forecast, should the weather take a turn for the worse and we need to close the school, we will inform you in the following ways:
• Message posted on the school website
• Message posted on the school Facebook and Twitter pages
• Update our status on the www.kentclosures.co.uk website.
Please be assured that if we need to make the decision to close the school, this will be done at the earliest possible time, and only if we cannot remain open due to health and safety reasons, including low staffing levels.

Our PTFA raised a wonderful £530 at the Christmas Fair. Many thanks to those who worked so hard to put on this fun event for our children, and to those of you who came to support.
We also raised £169.13 for Catching Lives, a local charity supporting the homeless, through collections at our Nativity performance and Carol Service.

During worship this week, we have been considering the theme of Pride in Me, Pride in My School. Worship has been led by Mrs Clark-Murphy and Mrs Pickles in the children’s Key Stages, choral worship by Mrs Wade and whole school worship by Revd Tim, Mrs Duffy and Mr Way. Please note that Mrs Wade, our Lead Teacher for Inclusion has changed her working days. She will be available on

Mon mornings, Tuesday all day and Thursday mornings. Please do get in touch with her on rwade@st-peters-
canterbury.kent.sch.uk if you would like any support or advice for you or your child in regards to any additional
 educational needs.
