Doing all the good we can through faith, love and excellence

  • Rainbow Class and Class 5 have enjoyed school trips this week to a local bakery and museums. We love being in the centre of Canterbury and all the opportunities this allows us to provide for the children.
  • Key Stage 2 children learnt a lot during their assembly and workshops with Dogs Trust on Tuesday. Thank you to Miss Webb for coordinating the visit.
  • A huge well done to members of the PTFA who raised over £300 at the Magic Man and Disco last week, as well as an additional £72 at their ‘Tiger who came to tea’ cake sale at the end of Book Week. Thank you so much!

In our collective worship this week we have been thinking about the theme of ‘Lent’, with assemblies led by Mrs Duffy, Mrs Gawthorpe, Mrs Twiddle and Reverend Tim.

Recently during worship we asked the children “What is really great about our school?” Here are just a few of their responses, which make us feel incredibly proud of our school:

We are a loving community, having new friends and having fun a lot, very caring, we are one of a kind, tolerance, learning to not give up, all the love and compassion and teachers because they are great, friends are kind, joy gives us hope, love, respect, teachers are helpful and loving, because we show love, we feel safe and we have great friends and teachers, we are respectful, we are family.

Don’t forget to sign up for a parents’ evening appointment to see your child’s class teacher. Details of how to do this were sent in a letter on Monday. Below is the link you need:

If you have any problems booking an appointment online, please pop into the school office and we can help you to do this.

School Website – Class pages

We have been making improvements to the school website, so that information is easier for you to find and will hopefully help you to support your child’s learning at home. Spelling lists and topic homework are all available online, as well as some top tips and advice on key elements of Maths and English. Keep an eye on these pages as we continue to add to them in the months ahead.

Wednesday 20th March – Down Syndrome Awareness Day

Wear odd socks as we get ready to learn a bit more about Down Syndrome, with some special visitors!
