St Peter's News 17.5.19

  • A huge well done to our year six children who have worked incredibly hard throughout the year, but who this week have been taking their KS2 SATS tests. Whilst the tests are part of school life, we hope that our children know how very proud we are of them as young people who are much more than any test can measure!
  • Now that the weather is warmer and the sun seems to be shining more often, please do ensure that your child wears suncream to school and a hat to wear when playing or learning outside. If children need suncream reapplied during the school day, they will need to do this themselves.
  • An important letter was sent out yesterday from Mr Way, so please do take the time to read this if you haven’t yet.
  • Please can we ask you to remind your children, especially those that walk to and from school alone, to cross the road safely and never to play in the road. We have had some children who are not behaving safely and sensibly in the mornings. We are aware of this and will be monitoring the situation closely, but would really appreciate your support.

It is with sadness that we say goodbye to Miss Bounds, our office apprentice, at the end of Term 5. We have thoroughly enjoyed having her as part of Team SP and I know many of you will have appreciated her warm welcome when you visit the school office.

We wish her all the best for the future.

Summer Fayre

Our PTFA are busy planning and getting ready for the Summer Fayre which will be on Saturday 22nd June, times TBC.

If you, or a company you work for would be able to donate a prize for the raffle, we would love to hear from you.

Please email or talk to Esther Tanner, Hannah Jenkins, Mrs Pearson or Mrs Duffy.

In our collective worship this week we have been thinking about the theme of “Truth and Trust”. Worship has been led by Mrs Gawthorpe and Mr Maré in the children’s key stages, Rainbow Class and Mr Way.

It was a total delight to see our youngest children take to the stage on Thursday morning to share their learning with the rest of the school community. Well done Rainbow Class, and thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us.

Don’t forget to “Like” our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter to see our updates and announcements!
