St Peter’s News 23rd November 2018

Doing all the good we can through faith, love and excellence

  • The senior leadership team have continued to show parents around for next September’s intake and the children have continued to be fantastic. We are very proud of them
  • The school council visited a residential home for the elderly on Wednesday. The residents and the children enjoyed the visit and one resident who is now 103 attended the school when she was a child.
  • The year 6 girls’ football team took part in a friendly tournament at Boughton school on Wednesday. They played exceptionally well drawing 4-4 with one Ethelbert Road team, beating the other ER team 8-0 and winning against Boughton 3-0.
  • A team of year 6 children participated in a basketball competition on Thursday afternoon as part of the Canterbury Sports Partnership
  • A group of year 5 children are attending a languages morning at CCCU this morning (Friday) They will be learning a range of different languages led by Christ Church students

Parent Consultations

Don’t forget to sign up for the parent consultations that will be taking place on Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th December after school. A letter containing all the information about these was sent out earlier in the week.

Children in Need

The Children in Need bring and buy sale was a great success and raised £80. Combined with the money raised from the children wearing spots a total of £270 was raised. Thank you!

PTFA Quiz Night

The quiz night was also a success. The PTFA raised almost £900 and a huge thank you should go to the members that organised it and those that took part. Also thank you to Cinnamon restaurant for their donation of food for the event.

This week we have had visits from Revd Tim and also Kidz Club in our collective worship. Mrs Wade has led singing and Mr Way will be leading the celebration assembly on Friday afternoon.

PTFA Christmas Fair

Our annual Christmas Fair (including Santa’s Grotto) will be on Friday 14th December, straight after school in the school and church halls.


Please note that the PGL payment cards are now available at the office for the parents of the year 5 children. The non-refundable deposit is due by Friday 30th November.

School Clubs

A reminder that at the last week for all clubs is the week beginning 26th November. Our paid for After School Club run by Miss Collier and the team will continue to run up until the end of term.
