Doing all the good that we can through faith, love and excellence

  • Canterbury Foodbank came to collect our donations from the Harvest Festival. They were amazed by the generosity of the school and wanted to pass on their thanks. Don’t forget that we have a Foodbank collection bin in school all the time if you would like to donate regularly to this worthwhile cause.
  • Clubs started on Monday of this week. Our thanks go to Mrs Greenwood in the office for her hard work organising these and to the staff and parents who give up their time to provide extra opportunities for our children.
  • This week the children have enjoyed Maths week, which has been led by Mrs Beard on the theme of “Maths through Stories”.
  • Our School Council met for the first time this week and have talked about what makes a good school councillor and how they can make a difference to our school this year.

We would like to ask that children do not bring into school Pokemon, Lego or other collectible cards or toys. Lost or swapped items can cause a great deal of upset on the playground. Thank you for your support with this.

This week worship has been led by Mrs Beard, Miss Mills, Revd Tim, Class 6 and Mr Way.

We have been thinking about the verse “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13.

Our Parent Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) met this morning for their AGM. This group of parents put on a range of events across the year to help raise funds for the school. Being involved can mean anything from helping at one event for an hour or two or a more regular commitment. Joining the PTFA is a fantastic way of getting to know other parents at St Peter’s.

If you would like to know more about how you can get involved, please email They are a friendly bunch who would love to hear from you!

Westgate Parks Scarecrow building help please!

Class 1 and Class 2 are going to build scarecrows to enter into this annual competition and family event. If you would be able to come into school next week and help make the scarecrows, Class 1 would love help on any day but help on Wednesday in Class 2 would be preferable. Please speak to Mrs Beard or Mrs Clark-Murphy. Thank you.
