St Peter’s News 7th December 2018

Doing all the good we can through faith, love and excellence

  • Christmas has arrived at St Peter’s! The tree has arrived, Christmas hoops have been hung and nativity rehearsals are in full swing!
  • Many thanks to all the parents and carers who came to our parent consultations this week. We hope that they were helpful meetings and that you enjoyed hearing more about your child’s learning.
  • On Monday evening our choir performed as part of the City Schools Carol Concert at the Gulbenkian theatre. The children behaved fantastically, sang beautifully and we are incredibly proud of them. The choir also visited Age Concern to share some songs on Friday afternoon. Special thanks to Mr Thurston and Miss Tydeman who lead our choir each week, and to Mrs Walters for her support as well.
  • Thursday was an exciting day for us, with a visit from Mister Maker for assembly and then a fabulous afternoon at the Marlowe Theatre Pantomime, Cinderella.

PTFA Christmas Fair

Our Christmas Fair (including Santa’s Grotto) will be on Friday 14th December at 3.15pm, in the school and church halls. Please do join us for this fun, festive, family event!

If you are able to help with setting up, running a stall or clearing up at the end, we would love to hear from you. Please email or let a member of staff know. Many thanks.

Christmas Postbox

The St Peter’s Christmas postbox is now open, with Year 5 elves ready to sort and deliver the cards. Please label cards clearly with the recipient’s name and class. If you would like to make a donation to The Sadie Bristow Foundation, rather than sending individual cards, please bring these to the office. Children are invited to sign our whole school Christmas card which is in the corridor outside Class 3.

Christmas Dinner

Wednesday 12th December We are looking forward to our annual Christmas dinner! If you have ordered a meal but not paid for it yet, please do so at the school office or online through the Caterlink website. On this day children are invited to wear a Christmas jumper, with their school uniform if they would like to. All children will make a Christmas hat during the morning!

During worship this week, we have been considering the themes of Hope and Advent.

Worship has been led by Mrs Beard and Mrs Pickles in the children’s Key Stages, choral worship by Miss Mills and whole school worship by Revd Dr Paul Glass. Mrs Pickles led this week’s celebration worship on Friday, which is a great time to hear about all the wonderful things that have been happening in school.

School Clubs

This week you will have received a letter about the school clubs running in Terms 3 and 4. Please do complete the form, by Tuesday 18th December if you would like your child to attend any clubs after Christmas. More details in the letter or from the school office.
