St Peter’s News 8th February 2019

Doing all the good we can through faith, love and excellence

  • We have had a busy week in school with lots of children heading off site for school trips; Class 4 visited Wagamama, Class 5 walked to St Martin’s church and Rainbow Class caught the bus to Wildwood.
  • The wearing red and coffee morning fundraisers for the British Heart Foundation raised a fantastic total of over £230! A huge well done to everyone involved and especially to the parents who organised and ran the morning. Our school council and junior leadership team enjoyed serving drinks and cakes!
  • Miss Mills has been really busy getting ready for our space themed Science week, which begins on Monday. We are really looking forward to some exciting visitors and lots of engaging sessions during the week.

Pick up arrangements

If your child will be collected by someone else (even another parent that we know well), please let the class teacher know in the morning. If this is not possible, please call or email the school office with this information. This supports our safeguarding procedures and enables us to make sure that all children are collected safely at the end of the school day.

During worship this week, we have been talking about Justice. Worship has been led by Mr Mare and Mrs Gawthorpe in the children’s key stages, Mrs Wade has led choral worship and Mrs Duffy and Reverend Tim have led whole school worship.

We talked about the question “Is the world a fair place?” and the children made some really interesting comments and observations both about issues close to home and on a global scale.

I challenged them to think about what they could do to make the world a fairer place, and look forward to hearing about their ideas.

KS1 and EYFS staff have asked that if you have any spare pants, socks or plimsolls at home that you no longer need or that your children have grown out of, to please bring these into school. We are always in need of spares in the case of accidents. Also, if you have any spare clothes from school at home, please do return these as soon as you can. Many thanks.
