Outdoor Play and Learning
OPAL is an award-winning programme to improve the quality of play opportunities. Here at St Peter's we highly value outdoor play and are committed to improving play for all our children. Playtime is 20% of a child's school day and we want to ensure that this time is valued and celebrated. Not only does play provide a vital opportunity for physical development but it also provides important opportunities to learn about socialisation, co-operation, resilience, creativity and imagination – that is why play is at the very heart of our school and Growth Mindset ethos.
We are proud to be a Platinum Award winning OPAL school as of 2024/25!
Mr Wood- Curriculum Play Lead
We celebrate play each week in our Friday celebration worship to help encourage children to recognise their positive attitude and approach to play.
